Slain Vegas Casino Executive's Silver Dollars Go on the Market

LAS VEGAS, January 16, 2002

Slain Las Vegas casino executive Ted Binion's silver dollars are being offered for sale.

Goldline International of Santa Monica, California, says the 100,000 Morgan-and-Peace coins date from 1878 to 1935.

Some have been circulated and can sell for as little as $39.

About half are in mint condition.

An 1878 San Francisco coin sold Tuesday for $7,900.

An Orange County, California, company bought the collection in October for $3.3 million.

Binion's family owns the Horseshoe Club in downtown Las Vegas.

He was found dead in September 1998. His girlfriend -- Sandy Murphy -- and her accomplice -- Rick Tabish -- are serving life in prison for his death.

Tabish was arrested trying to dig up the coins in the desert near Pahrump.
