The Binion Collection
consists of a few types of specialty coins, including Prooflike, Deep
Mirror Prooflike, and Star Designated Morgan silver dollars. Read
on to learn more about these coins.

Prooflike and Deep Mirror
Prooflike Silver Dollars
A
limited number of Prooflike
(PL) and Deep Mirror Prooflike (DMPL) silver dollars from the Binion
Collection exist. These
coins were struck from polished dyes and have highly reflective
surfaces, similar to coins that have been struck for collectors as
proofs. Numismatic Guaranty
Corporation has added "PL" or "DMPL" to the holder
of all coins that have received this grading.
NGC
Star
Designation Program
When Mark Salzberg,
President of Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) first viewed coins
from the Binion Collection, he remarked, “NGC has found the Binion
silver so compelling with incredibly toned coins, that NGC has chosen
this deal to add silver dollars to their new Star Designation
Program.” Salzberg has
personally chosen only those coins with particularly outstanding eye
appeal for this program. These
select few coins are designated with a star on their holders.
